The aim is to beat the dealer by making the best Poker hand possible, after a single deal of three cards from a standard 52-card deck. There are two bets a player can make in three-card stud that can influence the possible payoff they receive. A player isn’t obliged to make both bets but must make one. The bets are: The Ante bet - this is the same as in other casino Pokers and is the basic ‘cost’ of playing a hand. The Pair Plus bet – this is a higher risk bet that the player will get at least a pair or higher. Once a player’s made their bet(s), three cards are dealt face down to both the player and the dealer. They player can then assess their hand and choose to bet on or fold it depending on how they rate their chances of beating the dealer. If they choose to raise their bet (the minimum raise being the same amount they placed as their initial bet), the dealer’s hand is then revealed. The dealer’s hand must be at least Queen High (see below for hand rankings) to qualify for comparison with the player’s hand and, if it does qualify, the highest-ranking hand wins. If the dealer doesn’t qualify, a player’s ante bet wins and a pair plus bet is returned. If the dealer qualifies and ties with the player, ante and pair plus bets are pushed back to the player. If the dealer qualifies and is beaten, the player wins a payoff linked to the ranking of their winning hand and the type of bet or bets they chose to make.     Hand Rankings Having fewer than five cards, the Poker rankings used for this casino Poker differ from the standard Poker rankings and are listed below from highest to lowest: Hand Description Straight Flush Three cards in consecutive order from the same suit.
