It’s also worth noting at this stage that the software can also be obtained by ordering it on a free CD from 32Red. This alternative is one it didn’t offer previously, so more Brownie Points to this casino for fixing a little detail that we’d noted as a criticism in earlier reviews when comparing it against its rivals. However you obtain 32Red’s free casino software, any resultant wait is worth your while, as the presentation of its Microgaming-powered games is lovely.

With the table games sporting an attractive red baize (what else?), the look and feel is very pleasant indeed and, personally, we did rather enjoy having Patsy Kensit as our croupier. Patsy Kensit? Yes, you did read that right. One of 32Red casino’s unique features (although no longer actively trumpeted on the homepage as it once was) is the use of actress Patsy Kensit as the mellifluous voice of the dealer used in their games. Quite what influence this might have on your decision to play here we can only guess at, but if you're a casino-loving Holby City fan then perhaps 32Red is the ideal venue for your online gaming! (We suspect her ex-hubby, Liam Gallagher, won't be so keen though . . .) Returning to the slightly more important issues of the 32Red online casino experience, gameplay was straightforward and very smooth, with nice use of crisp, authentic sound effects to complement the virtual casino ambience. For sociable players the added feature of MSN-style instant chat while playing was also a definite hit with us - we also must commend 32Red's use of this feature as another option for swift contact with their very efficient support services (see below). This is a very good facility.

If downloading and installing 32Red’s casino software onto the PC your using isn’t possible or, let’s be honest here, likely to lead to disciplinary action by your employer then its Instant Play casino makes a nifty alternative route to enjoying some decent online casino fun. While it can’t quite match the sophistication of the download casino’s presentation, it still delivers very good gaming entertainment in a very convenient and speedy package. The only fly-in-the-ointment in our opinion is that this is an Instant Play casino that’s closed to non-Windows PC users, which is a curious shortcoming. One significant advantage of most Flash-based Instant Play casino games is that they can be enjoyed on Apple Mac’s and even Linux machines. Sadly 32Red’s Instant Play casino needs a bit of software widgetry (ActiveX Control if you need to ask) that means it’s game over for anyone wanting to try their luck with a ‘puter that’s not running Microsoft Windows. Bah humbug!
Our failure to go Instant Play gaming with a Mac, gave us a handy opportunity to put 32Red casino’s round the clock support to the test, and all channels were quick and friendly in their response confirming our suspicion that Mac computers aren’t supported. A disappointing thumbs-down for Apple gamers then, but a thumbs-up for 32Red’s efficient customer service.
